The Church says: The body is a sin.
Science says: The body is a machine.
Advertising says: The body is a business.
The body says: I am a fiesta.

Somatic trauma therapy: what is it?

It is impossible to live in this world without experiencing trauma. Difficult life experiences, especially those from early development, contribute to patterns of tension in the body and learned stress patterns- fight, flight, freeze, appease, collapse. The body is a vital place of learning and transformation. Therefore, it must be included in the therapeutic process.

Somatic therapy centers the body-mind approach that involves slowing down, listening deeply to the stories residing in our bodies, and honoring the healing process.
